Scottsdale Animal Healthcare is a veterinary hospital in North Scottsdale which is family owned. Being a privately owned animal hospital (not corporate owned), we have the freedom to offer the very best in veterinary medicine with no pressure to follow any "company mandated protocols" in each pet's care. Instead, our veterinarian will partner with you, the pet owner, to individually tailor a healthcare plan for your pet.

This partnership assures consideration of your family's needs and financial ability in choosing the best care possible for your pet. You will find that our staff is deeply concerned with both the emotional well-being of our patients as well as the pet's physical health. So, in addition to providing high quality medical care, we employ techniques to reduce the fear and anxiety that a pet may feel about its veterinary visit.

Expect lots of treats and praise to be lavished on your pet when visiting our hospital! We will honor current offers from any other North Scottsdale (or Northeast Phoenix) pet hospital.
Services
Veterinarian Dr. Alex Casuccio hails from West Virginia and attended veterinary school at Louisiana State University.
He offers 40 years of companion animal experience, with advanced skills in dermatology, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmic surgery, internal medicine and much more.
As a previous practice owner of over 27 years and a previous Medical Director for a large corporate practice (supervising, mentoring and coaching 50 doctors at a time), Dr. Casuccio has developed top notch medical expertise along with the friendly, personal approach that all clients want.
Cacti, Cactus's, Prickers or Whatever You Call Em' Dogs (and sometimes cats) will get into a cactus and when this happens, the treatment is the same for them as it is for you.
The cactus spines in pets must be removed.
The only difference is that you will hold still for the removal.
It is unlikely that your pet will be so obliging.
Always bring your pet to the veterinarian if you suspect a cactus encounter.
Sedation and a very close inspection with a bright light is needed to assure that all of the spines are removed.
