Vintage Heights Veterinary Hospital was established in 2009 by Dr. James Himmelberg, aka Dr. Jim to help serve our growing Lincoln Community. We are a team of caring individuals devoted to you and your pets' well being. Our team is committed to helping your pet at every stage of life. We are proud to be a full service veterinary hospital.

Vintage Heights offers services ranging from preventative care to senior pet care and everything in between including a wide range of surgical procedures, radiology, ultrasounds, and laser therapy.

Around the clinic, I am known as Dr.
Jim I graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and have lived in Lincoln since 1993.
My wife and I have two grown sons and my wife works as a Speech Language Pathologist.
VHVH is a full service Veterinary Hospital.
We offer full life services from preventative care such as education and vaccinations to grooming, training, internal medicine and surgical care through every step of their lives.

Vaccines are an important aspect of preventative medicine not only in our pets' health, but also in our community.
Guide-lines have been developed from decades of research by veterinarians and immunologists.
At VHVH, we recognize these guidelines and try to adjust vaccine protocols to each individual patient's needs.
At VHVH, we recommend vaccinating puppies as soon as 7 weeks old for Distemper and Parvovirus.
Puppies require boosters for the distemper and Parvovirus every 3-4 weeks until 18-20 weeks to maximize their efficacy.
Leptospirosis is a vaccine recommended in this area since this disease can cause serious illnesses.
At VHVH, can be included in the Distemper and Parvovirus vaccine we use here.
It is recommended to start this vaccine at 12 weeks and booster once 3-4 weeks later.
A one year Rabies Virus vaccine as early as 12 weeks of age is required by Lancaster County.

Some diseases such as Rabies, humans can also contract.
These guide-lines have been developed from decades of research by veterinarians and immunologists.
Our Lincoln community is fortunate that we do not see many cases of these diseases we vaccinate for, because the vaccines work!
At VHVH, we recognize vaccine protocols to each individual patient's needs.
At VHVH, we start vaccinating kittens at 8 weeks of age for the feline distemper combination vaccine.
Because we are a hospital, we like to keep our boarding facility small so we can give the utmost care to eery single one of our patients in the clinic.
We monitor your pet while they are boarding with us to ensure there are no concerns with eating or potty habits.
We also offer playtime and trail walks for an additional fee, to give them extra exercise or socialization if you prefer!
We do provide Hills Science Diet Sensitive Stomach as well as Purina EN Low Fat Gastro-Intestinal foods.
If your pet has a sensitive stomach, we do recommend bringing their own food to prevent any loose stools.
