Bellevue Animal Hospital
Bellevue Animal Hospital has been serving Eastside dogs & cats since 1955. We've provided generations of families -- both human and furry -- the individualized care they need, from wellness exams to dental care, ultrasound and house call services. Our goal at Bellevue Animal Hospital has always been to assemble a veterinary healthcare team committed to providing exceptional client service.

To that end, our team is skilled in performing anesthetic procedures, like animal dental cleanings and spay or neuter surgeries. We offer comprehensive veterinary care, including a wide range of diagnostic tools like ultrasound, digital x-rays and in-house laboratories so your animal can get everything they need all in one place. From vaccinations for puppies and kittens to animal nutritional counseling for adult pets to compassionate senior pet care, we'd like to be there for your pet for life.

Dr. Gerard is a hometown Bellevue veterinarian who purchased Bellevue Animal Hospital in 2007. Our veterinary clinic has been voted Best of Bellevue for 5 consecutive years, highlighting our commitment to the local pet community.
Services
Dr. Gerard grew up in Bellevue and has a long history with Bellevue Animal Hospital.
He attended Bellevue High School, graduating in 1988, and has always called Bellevue his home.
Dr. Melanie Gerard has a long history of working to promote animal welfare through providing high quality veterinary care in a variety of settings.
Growing up, Dr. Marzullo was very interested in the science and conservation around wildlife and wildlife medicine.
She pursued her bachelor's degree from UC Davis in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology.
One of the most important parts of your pet's ongoing healthcare is an annual wellness exam.
This visit allows our veterinarian the opportunity to carefully assess an animal's overall health and identify disease in its earliest stages.
Our hope is that we can see your pet year after year, becoming familiar with all of their individual conditions.
Bellevue Animal Hospital prioritizes preventative care wherever possible, and we'd like to help you protect your pet by being proactive about their health.
Just like us, our pets need regular dental care to stay healthy and happy.
By the age of 3, most cats and dogs will have developed enough plaque and tartar to require some extra help keeping their teeth clean.
So how exactly do our pets develop various dental diseases?
Specific kinds of bacteria normally found in the mouth, combined with the animal's food and their own saliva, will lead to the formation of that film on their teeth that you're likely familiar with yourself.
Without proper brushing, that plaque will mineralize and become a hard coating that we refer to as tartar.
Ultrasound is a noninvasive procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to produce a real time image of your pet's internal organs.
Bellevue Animal Hospital is pleased to provide this diagnostic service in-house so that your animal can receive the kind of care they deserve all in one place.
We often think of ultrasound as a tool used to check on the progress of a pregnancy in an expecting mother.
While that's also true for cats and dogs, this tool has many more uses in diagnosing problems with your pet.
There are countless benefits of using digital X-rays to diagnose specific problems with your pet's health.
The speed and detail provided by digital radiographs make them a convenient and highly accurate diagnostic tool.
Depending on an animal's symptoms, we may suggest performing this test to identify key causes of pain, swelling or other signs of disease.
Bellevue Animal Hospital works hard to ensure that our services remain affordable for our clients.
We try to maintain minimum diagnostic testing to accurately identify a condition wherever possible.
