Services
Dr. Sprayberry graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.
She began working in the Tallahassee region as a veterinarian in the summer of 2005 and joined Capital Circle Veterinary Hospital in 2018 when Dr. Steverson purchased the practice.
Dr. Sprayberry has a strong interest in preventative and wellness care, dermatology, infectious disease, and client education.
In addition to her part-time work as a veterinarian, she enjoys spending time with her adorable children, baking, reading and gardening.
Jean has been involved in Veterinary Medicine for over 35 years and has been a member of our staff since 1988.
Jean is married to local commercial Insurance Agent, Jimmy Hughes.
They have two daughters, Holly and Heather.
The Hughes' extended family of pets consists of 2 dogs- a Lab named "Derby", an English Cocker named "Dot", and Quarter Horse named "Sue".
In her spare time, Jean enjoys family outings to Mexico Beach, trips to the Keys, trail riding, and playing golf with friends.
Many changes in dogs and cats can occur in a relatively short amount of time, making annual visits very important for the health of your pet.
Yearly visits can uncover medication needs, dental issues, and early onset of age-related diseases.
Prevention or early discovery of problems can greatly increase the quality and length of life in dogs and cats.
Our doctors recommend yearly exams in order to provide the best preventative care for the life of your pet.
Vaccinations are part of a complete preventative care approach.
Oral health is an important factor in your pet's overall well being.
We perform routine check-ups on your pet's teeth and gums, and we also recommend full dental cleanings when indicated.
Dental prophylaxis is done under general anesthesia.
In addition to the benefit of being able to physically perform the procedures, this prevents your pet from inhaling bacteria.
Although anesthesia is never risk free, we take every precaution to minimize risk, including offering pre-anesthetic blood screens.
Your pet is monitored while under anesthesia.
Our hospital is well-equipped to perform many surgical procedures, from spays and neuters to more complicated orthopedic, trauma/wound care and soft tissue surgeries.
In addition, we are equipped for dental procedures including cleaning and tooth extractions.
Prior to surgery, each patient receives a thorough physical examination to identify any existing medical conditions that might endanger your pet's health.
Because not all problems can be detected on examination, we also recommend pre-anesthetic blood testing.
