Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital has a long history in the Yorktown, Hampton, and Newport News areas having been established in 1977. With over 40 years of service to the local community, we have grown a lot from our early beginnings to the hospital you see today. We are proud to offer the same tailored approach with contemporary and innovative veterinary medicine.

One of the best things you can do to keep your pet healthy is to bring them to the veterinarian for a yearly physical exam. Combined with a tailored vaccination program and recommendations on preventatives for things like heartworm, fleas, and ticks, the needs of your animal will be met every step of the way. Laser therapy reduces pain and recovery time, helping your pet get back to their normal self more quickly.

We believe in utilizing the highest level of medical technology, and our surgeons are experienced and highly trained. Dental care is vital to the overall health of any pet. Dental disease can lead to health issues with the heart, liver, and kidneys, and can affect the entire body through the bloodstream.
Services
Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital was established in 1977 by Dr. Dale Cupp.
It was originally a mixed animal practice, providing large and small animal care for the Yorktown, Hampton, and Newport News area.
The 1900 square foot building was expanded in 1986 to create an equine surgery and recovery unit.
With this expansion, Dr. Cupp brought in a new veterinarian, Dr. Robert Freeman, to be his equine veterinarian and surgeon.
At that time, Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital was one of the few local veterinary hospitals to offer equine surgery.
A Licensed Veterinary Technician (commonly refered to as an LVT or Vet Tech) is most comparible to a nurse in the human medical field.
They are graduates of an American Veterinary Medical Assocation (AVMA) credentialed program, obtaining at minimum an Associates Degree in Applied Science, and are licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a veterinary technician.
An LVT has the knowledge and ability to perform any task except: make a diagnosis, make a prognosis, perform surgery and prescribe medication.
In accordance with the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA), a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship (also known as a valid VCPR) is required for all prescription medications and veterinary services.
This relationship is defined as a physical exam of the patient by the veterinarian within the past year.
We can not provide products such as prescription diets and heartworm prevention or provide services such as vaccines, bloodwork, and surgery without a current examination by a Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital veterinarian.
When you are looking for a veterinarian, you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service.
Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital has assembled a team of compassionate veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pets.
