Rock Creek Home Veterinary Care is a house-call veterinary practice in the DC metropolitan region dedicated to providing high-quality medical care to dogs and cats in the comfort of their homes. Our veterinarian performs many of the same diagnostics and treatments as traditional stand-alone clinics. Having the vet come to you eliminates much of the inconvenience and stress that a visit to the vet can cause you and your pet.
House calls are particularly well-suited for people with multiple pets, parents of young children, people who work at home, seniors, and those who are house-bound. We look forward to providing convenient, personal, and thorough veterinary medical care through all stages of your pet's life. We perform new puppy and new kitten examinations, micro-chipping, well-pet, and sick-pet visits, vaccinations, laboratory tests, quality of life consultations, and gentle, compassionate at-home euthanasia for existing clients.
Dr. Tanouye is also licensed to complete International Health Certificates.

Services
Rock Creek Home Vet was opened by Dr. Daphne Tanouye in the spring of 2012 with a goal of spending more time with clients and patients in a more relaxed and personal environment than is typical in a clinic setting.
In order to practice at a high standard of care, our doctor is always accompanied by a veterinary technician on appointments.
In 2015, the doctor and technicians underwent intensive online training to become certified in low-stress handling techniques through Dr. Sophia Yin's Low Stress Handling course.

Our services include annual and semi-annual wellness exams, senior wellness exams, sick-pet visits, and gentle, peaceful, and private at-home euthanasia.
We can perform most of the same diagnostics and treatments as traditional brick-and-mortar vet hospitals.
For services that we cannot perform in the home, such as surgery, dentistry, radiographs (x-rays), and hospitalization, we will refer you to a trusted area veterinary clinic.
Please note that we DO NOT provide emergency services, and we are not always able to accommodate requests for same-day appointments.

Daphne Tanouye and her team are the absolute best - I wish I could give 10 stars for their services.
My dogs are both terrified at the vet's office so I decided to go with in home care instead and now vet visits are a breeze with relaxed and happy pups.
As a professional dog trainer, I am extremely picky about who handles my dogs, but it's obvious that Dr. Tanouye truly cares about her patients and really takes her time to make sure they (and you) are comfortable and relaxed, no scary manhandling here.
