Services
If you aren't able to take your pet with you on your next trip, let them stay with us at Vicksburg Animal Hospital.
Our climate-controlled boarding keeps your pets cool in the summer and cozy in the winter.
During your pet's stay, your pet will be exercised and under the supervision of our trained staff.
All pets are required to be current on their vaccination schedules.
If you are unsure if your dog or cat is up-to-date on their vaccinations, please call in advance.
Holidays book up quickly, so it is important to make reservations ahead of time to save a place for your pet.
Good oral hygiene is one of the best ways that you can maintain your pet's overall health.
When pets develop plaque and tartar on their teeth, this can lead not only to painful teeth and gum disease but liver and kidney issues as well.
The plaque and tartar on teeth contain dangerous bacteria that will be swallowed by your pet and affect their heart and kidneys, and can ultimately lead to failure of either or both of these vital organs.
Because dogs and cats as young as one year of age can begin to collect dangerous bacteria in the form of tartar and plaque, it is important to bring your dog or cat to Vicksburg Animal Hospital for an oral examination at that stage of their lives.
Diagnostics including blood work, ultrasound and radiographs (X-rays) are important in human medicine, and invaluable in veterinary medicine, as pets cannot tell us where they hurt.
Vicksburg Animal Hospital is pleased to offer the most advanced digital x-ray system available in veterinary medicine.
In the past, radiographs were processed with chemicals and took 15-20 minutes to develop.
With our technology, x-rays can be seen by our doctors in seconds, meaning your pet can be diagnosed or receive treatment by our experienced doctors within minutes.
There are times when our furry family members experience problems outside of normal working hours.
The doctors and staff at Vicksburg Animal Hospital understand this, and are pleased to offer after-hours emergency services to our clients.
If your pet has a medical need after hours or on the weekend, please call 601-636-8112.
Vicksburg Animal Hospital is equipped with the newest blood analyzers available to veterinarians.
These instruments allow our trained staff to run complete blood counts (CBCs), and blood chemistry tests on your pet's blood in less than half an hour.
This means we have accurate results that can tell our doctors right away what may be wrong with your pet and allow for immediate treatment.
Running blood work on your pet is an excellent measure of your pet's overall health even if they do not appear to be sick.
