Dog and cat surgery is a vital aspect of any animal hospital activities.
Modern veterinary surgery is done under conditions designed to minimize the chances of bacterial contamination.
Instruments, gowns, towels and other items such as scalpels and clamps are sterilized in an autoclave at 270 degrees and under pressure for various lengths of time to kill any microorganisms.
As well, the surgeon scrubs hands and wears sterilized rubber surgical gloves and wears a gown if the surgery is more than a minor procedure.

Although improvement is often seen after the first visit, most patients require several treatments (3-8) for greatest benefit.
For most conditions, we recommend a multi-visit treatment plan.
Treatments vary in length, but most sites require 2-8 minutes.
A majority of patients exhibit greater comfort and mobility in 12-24 hours after laser treatment.
During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area.

A complete physical exam includes both an internal and external evaluation of your pet.
An external exam is completed during your appointment time, an internal exam is preformed by monitoring vital organ function using blood testing.
This yearly blood test is important to screen for common physical conditions and abnormalities that may or may not be evident on physical exam.
The key to longer healthier quality of life for your pet is early detection and/or early intervention in therapy for disease related conditions.
