Services
Our veterinarians and veterinary staff provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.
We also work closely with referral practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.
The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a dental unit with digital x-ray, electrocardiogram, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, glaucoma measurement (tono-pen), a closely supervised hospitalization area, and kennels with outdoor walking areas.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment.
Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable.
Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available.
A drop-off means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours.
Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Marshfield Veterinary Service stresses the importance of an annual physical examination.
Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
We offer electrocardiograms and blood pressure monitoring for senior pets or those with cardiac conditions.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
Marshfield Veterinary Service knows that welcoming a new puppy or kitten into your home can be exciting, but overwhelming.
At your first puppy or kitten visit, an experienced technician or assistant will go over concerns that you may have about diet and exercise, housebreaking, behaviors, vaccines, flea and tick prevention, as well as parasite control.
We can begin vaccines at 8 weeks of age with most vaccines needing a series of boosters.
As your pet becomes older, Marshfield Veterinary Service has developed a health monitoring system to promote health and prevent disease.
Proper care includes: annual wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite control, dental examinations and cleanings, regular exercise, and good nutrition.
For all pets older than 7 years of age, we recommend a senior or mature diet that is highly digestible, high in protein and fiber, and also contain antioxidants and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids for skin and haircoat health.
