Wilderness Animal Hospital is a five doctor, veterinary hospital offering care for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and pocket pets in Maple Valley and surrounding communities. We provide services for every stage of your pet's life including preventative medicine, senior care, disease and emergency treatment, internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery.

Our animal hospital is American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certified and our staff is proud to be Fear Free and Cat Friendly certified to ensure you and your pet have the best veterinary experience possible. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care and go above and beyond for you and your pets! We always do what is right. It is important to us to discuss and recommend what is best for the patient and the benefits for the patient and the client.

Dr. Tate is a 1992 Michigan State graduate.
He moved to the Seattle area after graduation and has been practicing in the South Puget Sound area.
Dr. Tate joined our hospital in 2007.
Areas of professional interest include avian, exotics, small mammals, dogs, and cats.
He has traveled with World Vets to Peru and will continue to participate in helping the less fortunate countries with the curbing of the dog and cat population.
He and his wife enjoy cooking, gardening, and their grandchildren.
Dr. Wieringa is a 2001 graduate of the University of Illinois.
