Due to increased volume of requests all Prescription Requests will be available on the next business day following the request unless you are notified of a delay. Our lobby is now open to the public, masks are required. If you need a mask we can provide one. If you prefer not to wear a mask, a staff member can come outside and get your pet and you may wait outside during your pet's appointment.

We have an intercom doorbell for your convenience. Located in Bradford, Orange County, Vermont, Oxbow Veterinary Clinic is a full-service veterinary practice. Our animal patients include dogs, cats and farm animals large and small. The staff at Oxbow Veterinary Clinic are committed to the human-animal bond and to providing excellent client service.

Each veterinarian and team member strive to provide the best quality medicine available to our patients and go the extra mile to continually educate and communicate with our clients. Services
Veterinarian Chris Spooner grew up in Topsham, Vermont.
He worked for Dr Webster at Oxbow Veterinary Clinic while attending Oxbow High School and was inspired to pursue a career as a Veterinarian.
He is a 1998 Graduate of UVM where he majored in Animal Science and minored in Chemistry.
He received his Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.
Upon graduating from NC State, Chris practiced small and large animal medicine at Rowan Animal Clinic in Salisbury, NC.
Our primary mission is to deliver the best and most comprehensive veterinary care available for your pet.
An important part of the mission is making the cost of optimal care as easy and manageable for our clients as possible by offering several payment options.
Oxbow Veterinary Clinic requires payment in full at the end of your pet's examination and/or at the time of discharge.
For some treatments or hospitalized care, a deposit may be required.
New clients with Healthcare plans requiring comprehensive care of more than $300 will require a 50% deposit to begin your pet's treatment.

Feline Leukemia/FIV testing - Feline leukemia and Feline AIDS are viruses that can be passed to a new kitten from their mother or other cats in the environment.
We recommend all kittens be tested prior to starting their vaccinations to make sure they are not infected with these deadly diseases.

Below is a description of common vaccinations, laboratory tests, surgeries, and other preventatives that we recommend for all new puppies to help them stay healthy.
This is one of a puppy's core vaccinations, preventing against deadly diseases that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, pneumonia, encephalitis, and other life threatening infections.
If your cat or dog is in need of immediate medical attention during our normal business hours, we make every effort to fit our regular clients into our schedule.
In the case where we don't have a veterinarian on site or our regular appointments do not allow us to fit you into our schedule we would refer you to the emergency clinic.
Hours - Weekdays: 5pm through 8am Monday through Thursday, Weekends: 5pm Friday to 8am Monday.
Effective immediately, I will no longer be able to provide care for your animals at your farm or home.
