Our veterinary hospital in Kenai, AK, is pleased to offer a wide variety of services for animals in Kenai and the surrounding area. Thank you for trusting us with your pet's care. Dr. Eric Barnes started the Kenai Veterinary Clinic as a part-time practice in 1963. It was located in his A-frame home on the bluff 20 miles north of Kenai. Dr. Dan Lavach, a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology, purchased the practice from Dr. Barnes in 1977 and moved it to mile 16.4 on the north Kenai road.

Dr. Richard McCartan purchased the practice from Dr. Lavach in August of 1978 and moved that building to the present location in October of 1981.

Dr. Curt Wisnewski grew up on a farm in North Dakota.
He graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science.
He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University in 1989, where he met his wife, Shawnee.
They have six children, several dogs and cats, two horses, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, and fish.
Dr. Wisnewski has practiced at Kenai Veterinary Hospital since 1995.

We offer surgical services ranging from spaying and neutering to fracture repair.
