Annual examinations play an important role in patient care management.
Many diseases do not produce observable symptoms, making their clinical signs difficult to pick up.
An excellent gauge of a patient's health status is weight.
Weight changes that are slow or mild are difficult to identify without using a scale.
Early in many disease processes, the only indication that something is wrong is a weight fluctuation.
Bringing your pet in for an annual exam is one way to detect weight fluctuation.
A thorough physical examination is necessary to identify hidden problems such as oral disease.

All our radiographs are evaluated in-house and then sent to radiologists for further review.
Radiographs are images produced by x-rays.
Radiology is a quick and easy imaging modality that provides details on internal organs and structures.
We provide skeletal and soft tissue studies as well as specialized contrast studies.
We have recently upgraded all our systems to digital technology.
Digital imaging produces superior images, allows us near instantaneous images, and the ability to consult with radiologists in real time via the internet.

Our in-house lab is fully equipped for everything from urinalyses to blood chemistry testing.
Additionally, we provide comprehensive lab services that are fully equipped and staffed for parasite identification, cytology, and bacterial and fungal cultures.
This in-house lab allows us to provide both immediate or same-day laboratory results for many common tests.
We also use a regional veterinary lab and other specialty facilities to provide our patients with more comprehensive tissue and organ evaluations, bacterial and viral isolation tests, and immunological, histological, and cytological tests.

A complete pain management program addresses both acute and chronic pain.
Here at Queen Anne Animal Clinic, our doctors routinely evaluate their patients for discomfort.
We use a pain score system developed by Colorado State University and recommended by The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management.
This system is based on interactive and psychological observation, behavior, response to palpation, and body tension.
Your veterinarian can use this information to help design a plan to keep your pet comfortable throughout its life.
