My dog loved going here over his life and when it was his time we brought him back for one last visit where the staff was incredibly respectful and professional and the procedure could not have been conducted any better.
Absolutely by far the best staff I have ever dealt with at any vet.
Although, I didn't use them as my vet- I brought my dog in because she was very sick.
I had to end up putting her down and the staff was wonderful, caring, and empathetic.
I chose to bring my dog home with me to bury her on my family's land.
Here at Sherwood South Animal Hospital, we are so pleased to be able to serve Baton Rouge, LA, and the surrounding communities.
We truly believe in providing the highest quality veterinary care for your pets.
We are excited to be able to offer all of the services we can.
We have a wonderful and caring staff who will help you and your pets every step of the way.
If you are a current client, you can request an appointment via our Request Appointment form.
Feel free to contact us during business hours and a team member will be happy to speak with you!
Annually, or twice yearly if over the age of seven, your pet will receive a complete and thorough physical examination.
All body systems are checked from head to paw.
Every animal will receive an ear, eye, and skin exam, oral cavity check, and a thoracic exam, which involves listening to the heart and lungs.
Once yearly appropriate lab work will be performed for your pet, such as heartworm testing for dogs and intestinal parasite testing for dogs and cats.
In senior patients, we recommend annual senior wellness lab work, which may allow us to diagnose a potential problem early before clinical signs occur.
Here at Sherwood South Animal Hospital, we truly believe in the importance of preventative care as a way to keep pets healthy.
We recommend routine examinations for your pets because they are the best way to promote overall health.
It gives our veterinarians a chance to look at your pets' overall condition and their weight.
It is always good to have a baseline, just in case your pets ever get sick.
However, routine visits are more than just the examination.
We enjoy hearing about your pets and how things are going.
