Your friendly neighborhood veterinarian, serving the Seneca community & getting to know you and your four-legged friends. Can't make an appointment? Leave your pet with us while you go to work or run errands, and pick them up on your way home. Originally founded by Drs. Eugenie Greene and Richard Riney, Seneca Animal Hospital has been providing quality veterinary care to Louisville since 1987.

Now owned by Dr. Michelle Shumaker and the Vision VetCare family, her goal is to be your friendly, neighborhood veterinarian, and to provide quality, affordable veterinary care for our client's pets. Seneca Animal Hospital is a member of the Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) and the Highland Commerce Guild. We were also proudly voted Next Door 2017 Winner.

We have been taking our dogs to Seneca since we moved here in 1990. We are very pleased with the care they receive and our dogs actually are happy when we walk in the door. Our son even worked there as a teenager and takes his dog there also.

Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet.
Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen.
As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.
Pet insurance companies are beginning to offer the pet owner more of an ability to customize their coverage by allowing them to choose their own level of deductible or co-insurance.
