The Eagle Creek Animal Clinic has been a well-established practice on the west side of Indianapolis for many years. Dr. James Baughn, who had practiced small animal medicine and surgery in Indianapolis since 1972, founded the clinic in 1982 with himself as the only doctor and one other staff member. In 2007, Dr. Barry Foster, with over 16 years of experience working with Dr. Baughn at the clinic, became the owner of the practice.

Dr. Baughn retired in 2008 after over 30 years of practicing veterinary medicine. Since its founding in 1982, the Eagle Creek Animal Clinic has grown to employ four veterinarians and a support staff of highly trained professionals. In 2004, a major building project added four exam rooms, more work space, and a new reception area.

The clinic equipment is constantly being upgraded to reflect the greatest state of the art medical practices available, including recent additions of a digital X-ray machine and therapeutic laser.
Services
Dr. Foster graduated from Purdue and has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1990, and has been at the Eagle Creek Animal Clinic since 1991.
Dr. Foster and his wife Julie have two daughters.
They share their home with 2 cats, Francis and Sammy, and a very sweet and silly standard poodle, River.
When not at the clinic, Dr. Foster likes spending time with his family, hiking, and playing racquetball and volleyball.
He also likes to fish whenever he has the opportunity.
Dr. Allen has been with Eagle Creek Animal Clinic since graduating from veterinary school at Purdue University in June of 1998.
Eagle Creek Animal Clinic has a long history of responsible citizenship.
We have tried, and continue to try, to run our business so that it benefits both our local community and our environment.
Over the decades, we have participated in events with the Indy Fever, the Humane Society of Indianapolis, Jamison Camp, Special Olympics Indiana, and many others.
Each year, we sponsor an Eagledale Sports Little League Team.
We help Daniel Webster School (IPS #346) to send a student to Washington D.C. each spring.
Annual and semi-annual wellness exams are very important and allow your veterinarian to evaluate your pets external and internal health, along with preventing disease in the future.
We keep track of what vaccines your pet is due for and can help you choose preventative products for fleas, ticks, heartworms, and parasites.
At your wellness exam we will address any questions or concerns that you have about your pet's health, behavior, and well being.
Our clinic staff can also provide services such as nail trims, cleaning ears, or expressing anal glands when needed.
Our spay and neuter services are overseen by a full medical and surgery team from start to finish.
We run diagnostic bloodwork with our in-house laboratory machines prior to anesthesia to check all organ functions, and monitor temperature and vitals throughout the day.
Intravenous catheters are placed to allow a direct line for hydrating fluids and any medications needed should an emergency situation arise.
Most spay and neuter patients go home the same day as the surgery, and are given medication pre and post for pain management.
Just as in humans, your pet's dental health can seriously affect its overall health.
Bad odor, difficulty eating, and even recurring infections and illnesses may be caused by poor dental health.
The kidneys, heart, and liver are all directly affected by periodontal disease.
A build-up of tartar can cause more expensive problems later on, such as dental abscesses and jaw problems.
At-home preventative care is effective and is an important part of your pet's oral health and we carry several dental care products for home use.
