Services
Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
Parkway Animal Hospital stays on top of the latest advances in veterinarian technology and above all, remembers that all animals and pets need to be treated with loving care in every check-up, procedure, or surgery.
Theresa Barefoot has worked for Parkway since April of 2007.
Prior to coming to Parkway she worked for the Dallas S.P.C.A as a veternarnain techncian.
She also helped with the care and housing of Hurricane Katrina animals.
She currently has three dogs: a female Great Dane named Daisy Duke, a female labrador retrevior named Shadow and a male cocker spaniel name Tucker.
Julie Pearce has been a veterinary technician at Parkway for a little over 6 months.
She had been a client of Dr. Nelson's for 1.5 years and loved animals so she started volunteering.
Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up.
This will include a full physical exam, and may include teeth and gum cleaning if needed.
Dr. Joel Nelson will check the health of your pet from head to tail, and you will be very happy you came to Parkway Animal Hospital for service.
Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic.
It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts.
If you have something like this, share it with our team.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered.
In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill.
2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash.
All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
Parkway Animal Hospital understands this and is able to make some special arrangements through the CareCredit program.
It takes just 5 minutes to complete an application and will allow you to break down your payment into 6 monthly installments.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet.
Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open.
If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.
If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has.
