Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital opened in 1963 and its practice has been part of the Puget Sound community for 50+ years. Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital came to be because of the pioneering veterinary spirit and vision of three outstanding men. Their goals and mission were to offer medical care for horses, dogs, cats, dairy and beef cattle, llamas, alpacas, goats and sheep.

Serving Snohomish and the Puget Sound region as a full-service mixed-animal practice, it is now one of the largest multi-species veterinary practices in the United States. At Pilchuck, we believe that the best possible care for our patients results from operating based on our core values. Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital has been serving Snohomish and surrounding areas since 1963 and is now one of the largest multi-species veterinary practices in the United States.

Pilchuck has 23 doctors, and an extensive support staff that provides 24-hour emergency and critical care for large and small animals, offering extensive resources to the veterinary community of the Pacific Northwest.
Services
Although Pilchuck serves as a leading equine referral center, we also take pride in providing exceptional primary care on a field service basis for the horses of Puget Sound.
Our ambulatory practitioners are based on the hospital facility and work closely with our board-certified clinicians to provide patients with exceptional care.
Our ambulatory veterinarians have direct access to in-hospital equipment and resources, including an on-site pharmacy and state-of-the-art laboratory.
Pilchuck's ambulatory vehicles are fully equipped to handle routine and emergency veterinary care, allowing us to bring the expertise of our veterinary staff directly to farms and ranches.

Your pet is an important part of your family, and when he or she is ill, you want the best medical care available.
We do our very best to provide quality veterinary care to all of our patients, large or small.
When a furry family member becomes sick or injured, veterinary care can quickly become an unexpected financial burden.
In order to help ease this stress, we will prepare an itemized estimate or treatment plan, so you know what costs to expect.
We can then further discuss what course of action will be best for you and your pet.
We offer several financing options, like Scratchpay and CareCredit, so you can help us provide the needed care for your pet without all the upfront costs.
I truly can't thank the veterinarians and technicians of Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital enough for taking care of my dog Peter.
I had just gone on vacation and an emergency happened at home, long story short - my dog was bit multiple times by another dog with an aggressive history.
It was nearly impossible to find an animal hospital because they're all very busy and this happened late at night (we live in Kirkland and no other hospitals in the area had availablity to take in another patient).
We finally got in touch with Pilchuck through their emergency line and they were able to take my dog in and treat him.
Pilchuck offers both externship and internship programs for veterinary students and graduates.
Equine externships lasting two to three weeks are available to students who have completed two years of veterinary school.
Externships are designed to provide hands-on experience in large animal medicine and surgery to students interested in pursuing an internship after graduation, and those seeking experience in a private practice setting.
Each year, we accept two DVM graduates for year-long equine internships.
