Four Paws Animal Hospital
We recommend that clients who are not fully vaccinated still wear masks into the building, please. We are able to provide you with a mask, upon request. If you would still prefer to be served in a curbside capacity, we can certainly accommodate that for you, as well! At this time, we are still open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on weekdays (including Wednesdays) and closed on Saturdays.

We are also closed from noon until 1:30 p.m. daily for staff development. Please call our office with any questions. If you live in Rowlett or the surrounding area and need a trusted veterinarian to care for your pets - look no further. Dr. Lori McKelroy is a licensed veterinarian, treating all types of pets. Your pets' health and well-being are very important to us, and we take every possible measure to give your animals the care they deserve.

Four Paws Animal Hospital is a full service animal hospital and welcomes both emergency treatment cases as well as pets in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care.
Services
After working for several years as an associate veterinarian, Dr. McKelroy realized that true freedom to provide the highest quality medicine would only come by opening her own practice.
Dr. McKelroy started with a staff of 2 in a 1,500 square foot shopping center space, but it was clear that the practice would outgrow that facility soon.
In 2004, an already full-service Four Paws Animal Clinic became Four Paws Animal Hospital.
As more technology was brought in-house, it became clear that "animal clinic" conveyed the wrong impression about a hospital that offered complete surgical and medical services including a complete lab, x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, and dentistry.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet.
Our CSRs and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open.
If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We have a veterinarian on duty 5 days a week and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has.
Four Paws Animal Hospital is a group practice, where all of our doctors and staff members work together as a team to provide the best care for you and your pet.
However, we respect and appreciate the importance of your relationship with your primary veterinarian, so never be afraid to ask for the doctor of your choice.
If your veterinarian is away, please trust that you will be in good hands until her return.
All of our doctors are extremely skilled, compassionate, and helpful.
They consult one another on cases daily, and regularly hold comprehensive meetings to share information.
Early intervention through preventative health care is the key to providing a long and healthy life for your pet!.
Recent research in the veterinary field has reinforced the importance of preventative health care, as well as the veterinarian's role in imparting the information this service provides to their clients.
Extending the life of one's pet.
Detecting and treating potential life-threatening medical problems.
Slowing the progression of any long-term medical conditions.
Allowing for veterinarians to develop a familiar and personal relationship with their clients' pets, thereby making it easier to track medical issues.
FPAH is equipped with state of the art in-house diagnostic testing equipment including digital x-ray imaging, ultrasonography and in-house lab analyzers.
FPAH is able to offer numerous in-house testing options so information is available while you and your pet are in the hospital, and treatment can be started as soon as possible.
For example, we are able to perform ear and skin cytology's to determine the type of infection your pet has and start the appropriate treatment.
Blood clotting times (especially is cases of rat bait poisoning!)
