Amy Allen River Valley Vet House
Dr Allen has many years experience working in Hadley, delivering high quality veterinary services and compassionate care to 1,000s of pets and pleased pet owners from all over the Pioneer River Valley. Dr Allen has been doing House Calls exclusively for the past 5 years. Some folks are happy to have Dr Allen continue to care for their pets, and new pets too!

Some are referred for a House Call by their regular local vets. Others are making vet visits easier with their busy schedules or are new to the area and were previously pleased with the House Call experience. For too many people it can be a chore, a challenge, or simply not an option due to difficulties or disabilities to get their pets to a vet. Veterinary House Calls (formerly farm calls) are making a come back, a growing trend across the country.

Those who have heard the good news and made the call have been pleased. Read her reviews in Petsimonials. House Calls are much more than convenient. 100% of your time is spent with the vet, who devotes more time to you and your pet(s).
Services
The River Valley House Call Vet is proud to provide quality veterinary care to dogs and cats in the Hampshire & Franklin County Areas of Western Massachusetts.
Dr. Allen answers the phone and personally returns calls from her home office.
She travels to your home in her wagon, packed with everything needed for morning or afternoon appointments.
Phone messages are checked during the day between appointments and e-mails once daily.
As more time is spent with travel, pets, and people, she limits the number of daily appointments in order to allow some time in the schedule each day for urgent needs.
If these symptoms seem severe, last more than 24 hours or are accompanied by signs of a hypersensitivity reaction within 72 hours, seek veterinary care immediately, do not delay.
Dogs may become overly excited, immediately vomit or defecate, have difficulty breathing and/ or collapse.
Cats may scratch or rub their faces with intense itch, salivate or drool, vomit, have difficulty breathing and/ or collapse.
Dr Allen may or may not be available to help in an emergency.
If you do not hear right back, do not hesitate or delay in seeking veterinary care.
Please remember when going to meet a new pet for the first time, it is best to avoid those pets who are being kept in unsanitary conditions and those that are easily startled or seem even a little fearful.
Do not pity a dog that does not look well.
These are red flags that indicate additional consideration should first be given.
It is always advised to request any previous medical history on the pet and it's parents.
Ask to meet the parents, if possible.
Apples, of course, never fall far from trees.
My wife and I have had Dr Amy Allen as our vet for a number of years, first at an animal hospital in Hadley, and more recently on a House Call basis.
She's very caring with our cats AND she listens to us when we explain what is going on with them.
She also looks out for the best interest of the cat.
While she was at the animal hospital she recommended we take our cat to another vet that specialized in a procedure, even though the hospital culd do it.
She felt his case was challenging and thought we would be better off with a specialist.
Dr. Amy Allen will listen carefully to any concerns you may have, review previous medical history and check the health of your pet from head to tail.
She will review with you her findings and recommendations to keep your pet(s) happy & healthy at home.
She has many years experience delivering compassionate care and sound advice, focusing on problem prevention for healthy pets and options to restore health & happiness in sick, injured, and tired aged pets.
You will be happy you called the River Valley House Call Vet to come to you.
