We are a full service veterinary hospital devoted to cats and the people who love them. Established in 1994, the practice focuses its efforts and education on cats exclusively. Dr. Maureen Ricksgers is a 1986 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked exclusively with cats since 1988. Our staff is made up of cat-lovers who are committed to caring for cats.

We work hard to create a feline-friendly hospital that is quiet and calm. We understand it can be stressful to bring your cat in for a visit, even a wellness visit. Our knowledge of feline behavior, coupled with new cat handling techniques, just might make your next visit less stressful than ones you remember from years ago.
Services
Many cats are very stoic about pain and do not show it easily, but it just makes sense that these diseases can be very painful.
Our pets deserve a mouth free of pain.
A dental evaluation is part of every physical exam.
Taking dental x-rays during a dental cleaning is standard care at The Cat Hospital.
A cat's dental health status is determined during the yearly physical exam.
Many owners also detect dental problems on their own.
Cats do feel mouth pain and a change in eating habits can be an indication of a dental problem.
One helpful hint is to start training your cat to feel comfortable around his or her cat carrier.
This works best to start training weeks in advance of a scheduled appointment, if at all possible.
Start by leaving the carrier out all the time in a room your cat spends time in.
The door can either be removed temporarily to allow easy access, or pulled open and then tied securely back.
We want the cat to have easy access to the carrier for treats and napping.
Place some soft bedding or a towel inside.
