Compassion Animal Hospital
We exist to serve you and your furry family members with the best in veterinary medical, surgical, and dental care. Dr. Greg Cooper started CAH in 1986 and has been serving Woodland Park, Teller, Park, and El Paso Counties, as well as the greater Ute Pass area for over 33 years. We treat your valued pets like family. Our professional and courteous staff enjoys helping your pet's visit to be as smooth and stress free as possible.

Chin scratches, belly rubs, and treats can help a lot in that regard! The hospital is well equipped to provide small animal vaccinations, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, dentistry, laboratory analysis, anesthetic monitoring, pharmacy, nutritional counseling, health certificates and licensing, microchip identification, expert grooming, and dog & cat boarding.

We are excited to be able to offer high resolution digital x-rays and digital dental x-rays, along with surgical laser expertise that provides less pain, bleeding, and swelling for our patients. A class 4 Therapy Laser has been an effective addition over the last number of years to help tackle challenging arthritis cases and many other maladies.
Services
The team at Compassion Animal Hospital is comprised of highly trained and experienced animal health professionals who have a genuine love for working with pets.
Our staff treats every patient with the highest quality of medical care as well as a gentle touch.
I wanted to be a veterinarian since I was in the second grade.
Early on, tv shows like Daktari (about a vet in Africa), Lassie, and Flipper were big influences on me.
Later, during my high school years, the mentorship of a local veterinarian guided me to realizing my dream.
At Compassion Animal Hospital we offer a variety of services to care for your pet.
If you have any questions or would like more information on how we can care for your pet, please contact us today.
We believe that regular checkups & wellness exams are critical to your pet's well-being.
These exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while giving us a baseline for their unique bodies & tendencies.
We believe that one of the most important aspects of caring for your pet's health is vaccinating them against potential diseases.
When it comes to wellness for both humans and animals, regular care is essential to maintaining good health.
To ensure they receive the level of care they deserve and to give them their best chance at living long, healthy and happy lives, we recommend our feline and canine patients have at least one wellness exam per year.
The main purposes of pet wellness exams are prevention and early detection.
As with humans, effective treatment of diseases and other conditions often depends on diagnosing and treating the condition before it has had a chance to progress and develop into a serious health problem.
At Compassion Animal Hospital, our high-quality wellness care focuses on protecting Woodland Park pets from ever having to endure the pain, discomfort and risks associated with contracting preventable diseases.
In addition to a healthy lifestyle, an integral component of your pet's wellness care is preventing disease with vaccination.
When your pet is exposed to a contagious disease, the body's immune system produces antibodies, which are designed specifically to combat each type of disease.
After exposure to a certain disease, the immune system remembers (in a sense) how to fight it, preventing the body from falling ill again.
At Compassion Animal Hospital, we believe the best way to preserve our Woodland Park pet patients' health is through preventative medicine and wellness care.
The goal of preventative medicine is to prevent health problems before they occur, to detect the early signs of disease and to treat medical conditions before they have a chance to develop and significantly harm a pet's health.
Preventative care aims to keep your pet well, stopping health problems before they occur.
Some breeds of cats and dogs are predisposed to certain diseases and conditions.
