Tri-Lakes Animal Emergency Care is open evenings and weekends for emergency vet care. No appointment is necessary, but it is helpful to let us know you are on your way by calling (719) 434-1118. We are here when your regular veterinarian is closed, as an after-hours resource, providing the same caring, compassionate approach for pets and their families.
While we are open and seeing patients, pet owners are not currently allowed in the building. For 24/7 emergency care, please visit our sister hospital, Powers Pet Emergency and Specialty. Our veterinarians and technicians are among the most experienced in emergency veterinary care in the Monument/Colorado Springs area. Knowledgeable, compassionate and dedicated to the care of your pet is what you can expect from our animal hospital.
As part of a family of animal hospitals, wherever you are in southern Colorado, we're uniquely equipped to handle almost anything your pet may need.

Dr. Wilwerding earned his DVM from Iowa State University in 1994 and has worked exclusively with companion animals throughout his career.
He spent three years in Maine working with an orthopedic surgeon, and has continued to develop his orthopedic surgery skills, including such procedures as fracture repair and stifle stabilization (TPLO, Tightrope and extracapsular).
He also has extensive experience in emergency/trauma and soft-tissue surgeries.
He likes to say the operating room is his happy place as he's in there solely focused on helping a pet get well.
