Pet Hospital Of North Park
Our hospital was first established as Pet Hospital of North Park in 2004 by Dr. Roberto Osawa. Dr. Osawa graduated from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in 1982, and the University of Missouri in 1993. He is a third-generation veterinarian, and the Scottie Dog icon was originally used at his grandfather's practice in 1934 in Mexico City. Miguel Constantino joined the practice as an associate in 2015, after receiving his degree from the University of Baja, Mexicali in Mexico in 2005.

Dr. Alina Mier-Teran joined the practice at the start of 2017, she received her degree from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Pet Hospital of North Park's mission is to provide sound medicine and quality customer service at reasonable prices, for all pets and pet owners. We strive for all team members to provide the highest level of general medical care to every pet that comes in the door.

Our prices aim to allow all owners to affordably maintain basic wellness routines. Our philosophy for care is that, as a team, we can only be as strong as our weakest link, so it is our goal that every member of our staff can make the best recommendations for a pet's health, wellness, nutrition, and behavior.
Services
The veterinarians at Pet Hospital of North Park recommend a wellness examination for your pet once yearly if between the ages of one and eight years old, and twice-yearly when over eight years old.
The wellness examination will include a complete and thorough history of your pet's wellness, including information about your pet's current diet, flea control program, behavior or nutrition issues, and any concurrent medical conditions or medications.
The veterinarian will perform a complete physical examination of your pet to evaluate the health of every system, including teeth, eyes, ears, listening to the heart and lungs, checking for any abnormalities in the abdomen, your pet's skin and hair coat health, and for any new lumps or bumps.
Pet Hospital of North Park recommends all core vaccines for dogs and cats, and any additional vaccinations, as needed, for your pet's unique lifestyle.
These vaccinations include a 5-way combination vaccine for canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus type II, canine parvovirus, canine parainfluenza virus, and leptospirosis.
We also have an oral vaccine for Bordetella Bronchiseptica (the disease known as Kennel Cough) and Parainfluenza virus, a 3-way combination vaccine for feline viral rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus, and feline panleukopenia, the feline leukemia virus vaccine, and the rabies virus vaccine for dogs and cats.
Our laboratory services include full diagnostics performed both in-house and sent to Idexx Laboratories.
These tests include, but are not limited to, blood tests, urine tests, fecal tests, culture samples, microscropic cell analysis of tissues, biopsy samples, fluid analysis samples, virus isolation, and vaccine titer analysis.
Call ahead to inquire about specific laboratory tests required.
We have the capability of recording in-house electrocardiography and will receive an online report within 24 hours from a cardiologist to review the findings and offer treatment recommendations.
We also have the additional capability of attaching digital radiographs of the heart to get an even more comprehensive specialist opinion without ever visiting a specialty center.
We offer pre-anesthetic ECG'S for older patients or for patients with cardiac conditions.
We liaise with an experienced veterinarian in common soft tissue and orthopedic surgery cases, so if one of our veterinarians does not perform the service, we can arrange for the surgery to be performed at our hospital, without a visit to a specialty center.
We perform surgical procedures Mondays through Fridays and are open for surgical check-ins with an appointment.
A comprehensive wellness examination is required before scheduling these surgeries to ensure we know the details of the case and can provide an accurate estimate of cost for the procedure, except for elected spay and neuters.
