Highland Animal Clinic has provided quality veterinary care to Alaskan's pets since 1972. Located in south Anchorage, Alaskan owned and operated by Dr. Jennifer Tuomi, we have been providing preventative medicine for all life stages for over 40 years. Her father Dr. Jack Tuomi, who previously owned the practice, and her mother, Dr. Pam Tuomi, continue to work part time, making us a true family practice.

We take special care in our facility, equipment and staff training to minimize the risks of anesthesia and surgery.
Pre-anesthetic blood work is recommended for all anesthetized patients, and all patients are pre-medicated with sedatives and pain medications after an initial examination with the veterinarian.
Once sedate, they are given an intravenous injection to allow intubation and constant flow of oxygen and anesthetic gas.

Our use of digital x-rays are far superior to conventional x-rays for obtaining the detailed images necessary to make difficult diagnoses.
Because they are digital, we can e-mail them to a board-certified radiologist to read and review, as well as make copies for you to take home.
