After years of being "walk-in only" clinic, we have found it necessary with social distancing guidelines to begin taking appointments. Archdale Animal Hospital was started at this location in 1964 as Barton-Francis Veterinary by Dr. John Barton.
He felt it was important to provide quality medicine in an atmosphere where he could get to know his patients and clients well.
In 1990, his son-in-law, Dr. Barry George, joined the practice and has continued this tradition of providing quality veterinary services and customer care for almost 30 years.

Dr. Barry George is a native of King, NC where he grew up working on his family's farm.
With responsibilities on the farm and summers volunteering with the local veterinarian, Barry knew early in life that he wanted to become a veterinarian.
Dr. George attended Appalachian State and NC State during his undergraduate years, graduating with a degree in Biology.
He then attended the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, earning his degree in 1990.
After graduation, Barry moved to Charlotte to begin his career at Archdale Animal Hospital.
With responsibilities on the farm and summers volunteering with the local veterinarian, Barry knew early in life that he wanted to become a veterinarian.
