Dr. Lanier is a North Carolina native. In fact, she grew up about 5 minutes away from Middle Creek Veterinary Hospital and Exotic Animal Clinic. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian and has now worked in the veterinary field for over 15 years. Dr. Lanier is a graduate of North Carolina State University for undergrad specializing in animal nutrition and the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine where she specialized in dog, cat and exotic animal medicine.
Dr. Lanier is also passionate about taking care of her animal family, which includes dogs, cats, horses, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, and various fish and reptiles. Emily has over ten years experience in the Veterinary field beginning as kennel attendant and working her way up to a practice manager. She has brought new life and ideas to our MCVH Family.
Emily is very compassionate about animal rescue and companionship. She currently has one personal dog, a snake and 2 horses. You may also see the occasional unfamiliar face at Middle Creek Veterinary Hospital.

Your puppy's early months of life are an impressionable period in their life where many social habits are established.
The right training during this period can make all the difference in the lifelong relationship that you have with your dog.
Sometimes that doesn't exactly go as planned - we adopt an older dog from the shelter, we are too busy to do training until later, you know how it goes!
Sometimes we even do everything right and still end up with bad habits or aggression issues.
No matter what your dog's life stage or training level, Dr. Lanier is committed to training and to helping you have a well-behaved dog.

Spaying your pet has many benefits.
The procedure, which prevents female animals from becoming pregnant and reproducing, can help your dog or cat live a longer, healthier life.
Spaying will not change your pet's personality.
By spaying your female pet, you're protecting her against potentially deadly diseases, including bacterial infections, reproductive tract diseases, and several types of cancer.
You also won't have to worry about her going into heat.
This means avoiding the mess that often accompanies the heat cycle in female dogs and the pacing and crying that happens with female cats.
