I have been blessed to have been part of the Covington Veterinary Hospital family for 8 years part time and now I have the honor of stepping into the lead role at CVH. I certainly have some big shoes to fill as Dr. Helfrich has left a great legacy of quality and compassionate care for his patients and clients. Growing up in Greensburg, Indiana and I knew when I was a little girl that I wanted to be a veterinarian.
I received my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Purdue in 1997 and I graduated from Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Boiler up! I moved to the Fort Wayne area in 2005. My husband, Ed, and I have been married for 12 years. He is an electrical engineer at Riverside Manufacturing and he has been very supportive of my career.
We have two young boys, Ben, 9, and Cameron, 7. As a family, we love being outside, riding bikes, playing sports and spending time at the lake. I also enjoy being a part of our church community and local MOPS group. We also have a few pets as you can imagine: two dogs, Madison and Chiller, a cat named Monte, a leopard gecko named Leia, and a Russian tortoise named Turbo.
