Services
We are a non-emergency, non-profit, veterinary clinic that provides low cost services for pet owners in the Kerr County, Texas area.
Our mission is to save animal lives.
We do this by keeping pets healthy, out of Animal Control, and not reproducing unwanted litters.
Our other arm, the Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter, saves animals through rescuing them from Animal Control and getting them in condition to be adopted or transferred to other rescues.
We cooperate with numerous other animal rescue organizations to reduce the unwanted population of dogs and cats.
By adopting you bring into your home an animal that has no future or a poor one, where it becomes a source of mutual love, happiness and devotion for many years.
It's a win-win!
We have puppies, dogs, kittens and cats that are a match for whatever your lifestyle.
Most of our animals for adoption come from Kerr County Animal Services, which picks up animals on the streets of Kerrville or from abusive situations.
The best hope these animals have is to be adopted by you.
If they are not, they may live out their lives with us since we are a no-kill shelter.
AWS Freeman-Fritts opened its doors in 1986 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to serve the needs of Kerr County's animals and is commonly known as Freeman-Fritts in honor of its founders.
It is a no-kill shelter.
We are able to provide for animals because of you and your donations.
The Happy Tails Fund saves hundreds more lives than those of just the cats and dogs we can physically house.
Your donation allows us to save many animals that have run out of time at Kerr County Animal Services.
Our shelter is a newly renovated, state of the art, animal care facility with large outdoor, undercover runs for dogs and multi-level condos near windows for cats.
There are both indoor and outdoor play rooms for cats, and a large play yard for dogs to run around in.
The main thing that sets us apart is the dedication and many years of experience of our staff.
Every one of them has a passion for our animals and their wellbeing.

The Happy Tails Fund allows us to save many animals in danger of euthanization at Kerr County Animal Services.
We provide the initial vet care necessary to get the animals in good enough shape to be transported to rescues around the country that we partner with, and which can adopt them out better than we can.
