I grew up on a farm in Vernon, Oklahoma.
I went to Veterinary School at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where I graduated in 2000.
I practiced at Benbrook Animal Hospital for several years and began working part time work at Southside Veterinary Clinic in 2007.
It didn't take long for me to become an associate veterinarian here working full time.
In 2014 when Dr. Mehaffey decided to retire, he offered the clinic to me.
I am now in my second year of ownership and I love it!
We are growing and trying to keep up with all the new technology!

Preventative medicine is important when our pets are young, but as our pets age, and become prone to certain disease processes, annual exams and blood work become even more important.
Annual exams and simple blood work to check liver and kidney values, along with thyroid function have the potential to alert us to early changes that may give us important information about your pet's health.
Beginning exams and annual blood work when your pet is young and healthy gives us a baseline to compare to as your pet ages.

Dental care is vital to the overall health of any pet.
Dental disease can lead to health issues with the heart, liver, and kidneys, and can affect the entire body through the bloodstream.
In fact, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over three years of age suffer from some form of dental disease, making it the most common pet health issue among our pet population.
In spite of these disturbing facts, many pet owners are not aware of the importance of dental care to their pet's health.
There are a lot of different ways to improve your pet's dental hygiene, including home brushing, dental chews, and regular inspection.
