Animal Care Center was established in 1978 by Philip Brown, D.V.M., who you will still see practicing in the office today. We are a full-service veterinary facility providing medical, surgical and dental care as well as boarding and grooming services. We offer rehabilitation therapy and pain control utilizing class IV therapy laser, micro tens unit, and therapy ultrasound.
We act as pet advocates in helping owners and pets develop good relationships by striving to educate each client. We are always ready to welcome new guests to our practice and are happy to answer any questions you may have about our veterinary services or your animal's health care needs. We love animals as much as you do and we look forward to working with you and your pets.
We know a healthy pet is a happy pet! Dr. Brown was born in Germany and has resided abroad as well as in the U.S. After graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army and spent two years in the pathology program at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center.

He practiced emergency medicine and did relief veterinary medical work in Denver before relocating to Springfield where he operated ANEM Pet Emergency Hospital, one of the first dedicated emergency facilities in Missouri.
After several years of mixed animal practice, he now limits his practice to small animals at the Animal Care Center.

Our groomers have over 25 years of experience and were working here with our doctors as support staff within Animal Care Center before Academy Boarding and Grooming came into existence.
Their experience will show when you pick up your pet and see how refreshed they look and feel.
You will feel comfortable leaving your loved ones in our care as we are dedicated to making sure your pets look and feel their best.
