Kenneth Cohn DVM
Dr. Cohn has returned after a 6 month RV road trip and is thrilled to once again offer house calls to pet owners in the Tucson area! In my experience, I have found house calls appropriate for both cats and dogs, for routine care such as examinations and vaccinations, for the pet who is no longer mobile, is a terrible traveler, or, after all these years as your most valued companion, must be put to sleep.

I can help if you need an in-house consultation to help make that difficult decision. Some clients are surprised how simple things such as an improved dietary plan, simple exercise regimen or a program of controlled pain management can extend the quality life of their pet. I can't tell you how grateful we are that we have such an awesome vet! Your patience, communication, and above-and-beyond care is just incredible, and I know Hammie and Bear are in great hands.

Cohn is one of the most caring vets we've known. Even our 18-year old cat, Oliver, immediately took to him-he articulated his affection very loudly and showed his appreciation by sharing something of a personal nature.
Services
After practicing small animal medicine and surgery for 33 years in St. Louis, Missouri, I sold my practice and moved to Tucson to join the cohousing community of Stone Curves.
Here I continue to work on a part time basis doing what I've always loved: practicing veterinary medicine but now, limited to a house call basis.
In St. Louis I enjoyed house calls on an as needed basis and used my hospital as a base.
Since moving to Tucson I have also had a book published.
LAUGHTER AND TEARS, A VETERINARIAN'S MEMOIR AND ADVICE is an autobiography of my years of practice in St. Louis.
I offer a variety of services to help you take care of your pet in your own home.
If you have any questions or would like more information on how I can care for your pet, please contact me today.
Minor Surgical Procedures (procedures that can be preformed under a reversible sedation including simple dentals, lumpectomies and wound repairs).
Before moving to Tucson, I ran a full service veterinary hospital in St. Louis.
I saw clients and patients during office hours and on emergencies and made house calls in my spare time.
In 2008 I moved to Tucson where I now limit my practice to house calls.
Late in 2014 I had a book published: "Laughter and Tears, A Veterinarian's Memoir and Advice".
The first 3/4 of this book is an autobiographical sketch of 38 years in my veterinary career.
The last quarter of the book is devoted to the lessons that I found myself repeating to clients every day I went to work.
Pets with behavior problems often pose a frustrating challenge for pet owners.
In fact such issues are the most common reason a pet is relinquished.
I've spent my entire career working with clients to make their pets an easier and more rewarding part of their life.
Sometimes simply professional advice or more training is necessary, but medications can also be helpful in select circumstances.
To learn more about how behavioral consultations might help your pet, please contact me today at (520) 465-1533.
I work with the most popular national veterinary lab in the country and can often get blood results back to you within 12 hours.
If you can restrain your pet, I can collect blood or any other samples.
By the way, most lab tests will be run for less (sometimes, a lot less) than a full service clinic might charge.
