Dr. Heather Smith
Medical Director
Dr. Smith is a 2003 graduate of Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and she has been practicing small animal medicine in the greater Seattle area since then. The areas of practice she finds most rewarding are preventative medicine/wellness care, dentistry, pain management, and quality of life/end of life care for her patients. She is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and loves how that training allows for treatment options which complement her favorite areas of medicine. Dr. Smith values a “team” approach to veterinary medicine where everyone, including the pet parent, plays an important role. She is proud to be a part of this groundbreaking reimagining of how we deliver pet care in ways that support and honor the human animal bond. Dr. Smith also is also passionate about preserving the mental health and well-being of the veterinary team, so that we can provide our very best to the pets in our care.

As a child, her home was filled with almost every kind of pet you could imagine. From the normal cat, dog, and birds; to the less common tree frogs, hermit crabs, a tortoise and even a very social, praying mantis! So, a career in Veterinary Medicine was the ‘obvious’ choice for her. There were two big instances that greatly influenced my chosen career path as an adult. The first was when the Family cat tore his cruciate ligament when he was 9, had surgery and lived another amazing 10 years with barely a limp! The second, and most impactful instance, was their Family dog having very severe environmental allergies and getting to see how, through customized immunotherapy, she didn’t have to be miserable and itchy her entire life.

Met with Dr. Kuhn & Vanessa in our home, super nice, knowledgeable. They were both very open to questions. This by far has been the best experience for my cat and myself. If there are any issues that arise with my cats health I know that I can reach out to them, and I will get a response fairly quickly. Highly recommend them!

I scheduled a home visit, as the clinic was not yet opened and had a great experience. Even thought the kitty was a bit agitated, the doctors handled him really well while performing the exam and administering his vaccination. They answered all of my questions regarding his care and we came up with a plan for his future care, as he has a chronic condition.
I appreciated that they shared some care tips they use with their own pets. They have an online system for follow up care, where they have been very responsive. I am very happy with the service provided and looking forward to having a reliable vet close by.

We had an excellent experience with Felix&Fido-- it was easy to book an appointment, and the staff at F&F were professional, on-time, and were impressively effective in working with our Vizsla. Our dog doesn't like being touched by strangers and is suspicious of vets, checkups, and getting her feet/nails touched. When she doesn't like something she's quick to fight/flight. F&F staff were amazing in earning her trust and doing a checkup nailtrim and making our dog feel comfortable. It was a successful visit and we were able to get many questions answered with the vet. I'd highly recommend this service to see if it's right for your pet!

Right now it's not feasible for me to bring two cats and a dog to a veterinarians office. They came to my apartment and set up everything so professionally! My cats always gets so stressed out getting in their carriers and going to the vet and they actually let them trim their nails, and they weren't unhappy at all. I think as a pet owner that's always what we strive for for pets not to be stressed out. I also was able to get 2 check ups for my seniors. I also was allowed to be with them, which was so comforting to all of us. The best nail trims ever.

Felix&Fido is top notch. My dog Cali was smiling the whole time. She usually hates getting out of the car when we pull into the vet when she thought we were going mountain biking. It was super easy to book online and the care Cali received from Dr. Kuhn and Vanessa was gentle and spot on her needs. On top of that they answered all my questions and didn't break the bank. Definitely recommend these guys!

Felix and Fido was very easy to set up and they came on time to my house and did an overall checkup on my dog. Both the vet and vet tech were so kind and made this a smooth checkup in a safe space for my dog rather than a physical office where he tends to get more anxious. I cant wait to book another appointment with Felix and Fido!
