She has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine for 7 1/2 years as an associate in the Rocky Mount area and has been voted Best Vet in the Rocky Mount Telegram. Dr. Zick's family has made the move to Clayton including her husband, Chris, her five-year-old son, Avery, her three-year-old daughter, Abigail, and her three rambunctious dogs; Spikey, Bubba, and Gladys.
She looks forward to meeting you and your family! Dr. Carson grew up in Greenville North Carolina but has lived in the triangle area for the past 12 years. Dr. Carson attended NC State University for both her undergraduate and veterinary training. Prior to veterinary school, she worked at the NC State Veterinary School as a veterinary assistant in the laboratory animal department for 8 years where she got to take care of all different kinds of species!
While in veterinary school she was the president of the Behavior club and conducted behavior-based research projects in her spare time such as travel anxiety in cats and dog leash aggression.
