The bond that is formed between Dr. Harris's clients, patients and herself is a very important one.

We at Trenton Veterinary Hospital understand that anesthesia can be nerve racking for owners.
We will make sure to know your pet's complete history before the anesthetic event.
The vaccine history, lifestyle, and any medication your pet takes all influence how they may respond to anesthesia.
We will perform pre-surgical examination and diagnostic tests that help identify any underlying conditions that should be addressed before your dog undergoes anesthesia.
Chemistry tests to evaluate kidney, liver, and pancreatic function, as well as sugar levels.

Veterinary science, in conjunction with the veterinary industry, has done a great job developing vaccines that are very safe and effective preventive measures.
Vaccines keep your pet protected from serious infectious diseases.
Diseases that, just a few years ago, were epidemics are now less common.
Vaccinations are split into core and non-core vaccines.
The indication for these vaccines should be based on a risk assessment that looks at local and regional incidence of the disease.
The risk assessment should also take lifestyle into consideration.

An annual physical exam is a vital part of maintaining a healthy, happy, and long life for your dog or cat.
Since animals age faster than people do and can't communicate when they are not feeling well, your veterinarian will gain valuable insights into the health of your dog.
Our skilled team will perform a nose to tail examination of your pet.
We also will utilize diagnostics such as blood screening, fecal screening and urine testing.
Some of the other preventative care items we offer are nutritional and behavioral counseling.
