Services
Dr. Margaret (Maggie) MacDonald was born in Dallas, Texas.
Caring for and loving animals comes naturally to her; as her father was also a veterinarian.
His house call practice took him to the homes of his clients with little Maggie in tow.
She remembers from about 3 years on, going to "work" with her Papa.
He never hesitated putting her to "work", even having her hold tight to surgical instruments during surgery!
At home there was always a wide variety of animals to love and care for as well, from the traditional dogs and cats to squirrels, donkeys, and the occasional injured armadillo.
If you are visiting this website, chances are that you either have made the decision that it is time to let go of your pet, or that the time is drawing near and you want to be prepared.
It is one of the most difficult decisions that you will ever have to make as a pet owner.
You are looking for a way to make this transition easier for your pet, to lessen his suffering, and make it as painless and stress-free as possible.
While often heartbreaking, it is a loving and selfless decision that you can make as an advocate for your suffering friend.
Some pets do not like to travel in a car.
For some, especially large dogs with arthritis, it may be painful to get in and out of a car.
Why inflict this additional suffering on your pet?
Few would choose to have their beloved friend spend their final moments scared, stressed and confused - that's why many choose our pet euthanasia services that are provided from the comfort of your home.
There is usually not one perfect moment in time in which to make that ultimate choice of euthanasia (unless the pet is truly suffering).
Rather, there is a time period in which euthanasia is an appropriate decision to make.
This time period could be hours, days, weeks, or even months.
Euthanasia should be chosen to prevent further physical or emotional suffering for your pet and the emotional suffering of your family.
Ask your veterinarian for the exact signs of suffering likely to be associated with your pet's condition or disease.
Glynis will respond to your inquiry.
She will listen to your concerns, ascertain information needed, review your pet's medical history, and answer any questions you might have.
She will go over the process, and together you will decide how to integrate it appropriately for your unique situation.
If Glynis is not available to respond or if she feels that you need to speak with a vet; Dr. Maggie or Dr. Kimberly will contact you.
At the close of the conversation you will have decided upon an appointment time and place, fees, and an aftercare option.

The day every pet owner dreads comes all too soon…… I’d done my research a couple of years earlier so I would be prepared. I called and was met with total understanding and compassion. They answered every question and guided me through the process. The worst day had the best outcome because my dog was able to die at home, where she was the happiest, not in the vet’s office which she hated. They even arranged for someone to take her body to be cremated. I couldn’t have gotten through it all without them

Dr. Kimberly is one of the most loving veterinarians I have ever been lucky enough to deal with. She has come to my parents home in Georgetown twice now over the last few years, to put down my Great Pyrenees and my 3-legged cat. Both times she cried along with me.
She could not have been more gentle, sensitive, thoughtful or kind - and she made a terribly sad experience much more bearable. Both my babies passed peacefully, knowing they were loved by both me and the nice lady in scrubs who came to see them.
I’m a week or so away from having to make this same choice for my 15 year old Golden retriever, and Dr. Kimberly is my one and only choice to complete this sacred ritual for me.

We had to make the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye to our sweet dog, Kerbey, after more than 15 years as a member of our family. Dr. Maggie and the entire Compassionate Pet Vet team were wonderful throughout all of our email interactions, and when we met Dr. Maggie in person. We are so thankful for Dr. Maggie's love and care with Kerbey (and our family) during Kerbey's final moments with us.

Dr. Kimberly was AMAZING. This was the best way possible to say goodbye to our Sandy. We have never done an in-home euthanasia but this was a thousand times better than I ever could have imagined. Her kindness and genuine sympathy for us as pawrents was so appreciated. Highly recommend their services.
