Cat Practice
Whether your cat is shy or outgoing, our staff will make sure that your feline has as much of a stress free experience as possible. The following is a list of common feline health problems and general information designed to help you help your cat stay healthy and happy. In addition to the prescription medicine we sell, we also offer a wide range of products and nutritional supplements to keep your cat healthy.

Welcome to The Cat Practice, the first exclusively feline veterinary hospital in the United States. Founded in 1972, The Cat Practice has been a leading provider of feline healthcare to Manhattan's cat community for over forty years. We are a pioneer in feline medicine and have a brand new, state of the art facility in the heart of Chelsea. We offer a variety of veterinary services for your cat at any age, whether it is a kitten or an adult cat.

Our veterinarians are able to help you understand the unique healthcare needs of domestic cats, an animal that is often misunderstood due to their stoic nature.
Services
All felines boarding with The Cat Practice are required to be up to date on their vaccinations and have had a physical exam within the last six months.
Our veterinarians are happy to bring your cats up to date while they are staying with us, so please bring your cat's medical paperwork with you if they have been seen by another veterinary office.
If your cat has an ongoing illness or is difficult with strangers, please speak with our staff ahead of time to ensure that we can accommodate your cat's specific needs at the time of their stay.
Dr. Eric Dougherty D.V.M. is our Medical Director and has been with us since 2011.
He is an active member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, AVMA, ASPCA, and WSPA.
He graduated from Ross University, where he was awarded the Stanley M. Dennis scholarship.
He then went on to complete his clinical rotation at Iowa State University.
Dr. Dougherty was raised in Brooklyn in a family that was always adopting any neighborhood cat in need, and he learned from an early age that he wanted to practice veterinary medicine in order to care for these majestic, unique animals.
In addition to an extensive list of prescription medicine we offer at The Cat Practice, we also have many health products and nutritional supplements available to keep your cat healthy.
Please call our office if you need a prescription refill or would like to check if we have your medication in stock, and we will be happy to assist you!
The Cat Practice is proud to offer an array of prescription diets to meet specific nutritional needs of your beloved feline.
These diets are available exclusively through veterinarians, and are carefully formulated to support each health condition they are designed for.
We are located near the C, E, R, W, and 1 train stops, as well as bus stops, metered street parking, and many parking garages.
We are open for appointments with our veterinarians at 10:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.
Drop-off appointments are also available upon request, so please ask us for details!
