Adding a new member to your family is such an exciting time, but it can also be overwhelming. Let our staff walk you through this important life stage. We will direct you every step of the way, and try to help you navigate all of the most important parts of puppy and kittenhood. From vaccines, to behavior training; parasite prevention to spay and neuter counseling- we are here to hold your hand and help you out! Ask about our complimentary toe-nail trims at these appointments, to get your pet used to this experience.

What you do today will have an important impact for years to come. Just as you change as you go through life, so does your pet. Not all dogs are created equal, and cats are certainly not small dogs! With that being said, let us taylor the care of your furry family member to them. Dr. Michalski is a native of the Sterling Heights area.
She chose to open Serenity Animal Hospital in order to provide the best veterinary care available.
She is constantly learning and attending continuing education courses all over the world.
Annual and often Bi-Annual exams are recommended for all cats and dogs.
After your pets Comprehensive Physical Exam, the doctors and technicians will talk to you about your pets health.
Heartworm Testing - required for all dogs over 6 months of age.
This test can be run in house or combined with Wellness Testing that goes to our lab.
This combined profile includes a urinalysis, cbc and a 12 chemistry panel at a discounted price.
Fecal Testing - required at least once yearly.
This test run in our lab tests for intestinal parasites that our pets can pick up anywhere.
We recommend that all dogs and cats take Heartworm and Flea Preventative all year round, for their entire lives.
Dogs need to be tested for Heartworm Disease after they are 6 months of age if they have not been on preventative.
They are then tested annually.
We have a variety of Heartworm and Flea preventatives in stock to fit the needs of your pet.
A Doctor or Technician will talk to you and together we can figure out what best fits the needs of your pet.
Spays & Neuters - Spays and neuters are recommended at four months of age and at least four pounds in weight.
All spays and neuters are sent home the same day and go home with pain and anti-inflammatory medication.
We recommend pre-anesthetic bloodwork, fluids, a microchip and laser treatment for all spays and neuters.
Non-Routine Surgery- We are able to do many types of non-routine surgeries, including but not limited to, Cruciate ligament rupture (MRIT), luxating patella repair, bladder surgery, tumor removals, biopsies, foreign body removal and surgery on all major organs.
