At Home Veterinary Care
At Home Vet Care is a house call veterinary practice providing medical care and behavior consultations to your cats and dogs in the comfort of their own home. Dr. Sarah J. Cutler has more than 20 years of experience practicing veterinary medicine in Westchester County and Manhattan. Exams, treatments, diagnostics, and vaccinations are performed at your convenience and in your presence.

Dedicated to promoting humane treatment of patients and pets using modern understanding of positive reinforcements. When Dr. Cutler arrives at your home she will bring a veterinary assistant, a scale, all the necessary items to perform a full physical exam, and any diagnostic aids. After reviewing information about your pets lifestyle and any of your concerns, she will perform an exam and then discuss recommendations.

Most blood and urine tests can be performed during this time. Dr. Cutler is happy to discuss or forward any medical information to other veterinarians, including specialists if necessary. We have 2 cats and one was acting out.
Services
Sarah Cutler graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and completed an internship in general small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan in 1998.
She worked at Park East Animal Hospital for six years before moving out of the city and working at Somers Animal Hospital for six years.
She founded her own house call practice called At Home Vet Care based in Katonah, NY in 2010 in order to provide high-quality care in the comfort of pets' homes.
Some pets become extremely distressed from a car ride or spending time in the waiting room of a busy veterinary hospital.
Some pets are difficult to move due to size or illness, and for some owners, busy schedules make office visits a challenge.
Senior citizens and multi-pet owners can also benefit from a housecall service.
What should I expect from a visit by At Home Vet Care?
When Dr. Cutler arrives at your home she will bring a veterinary assistant, a scale, all the necessary items to perform a full physical exam, and any diagnostic aids.
Behavior Assessments involve looking at genetic predispositions, the patient's experiences and history, the health of the patient, the environment and context, and setting realistic expectations.
I generally break down my approach to behavior problems in the following way: How can we manage the problem?
How can we modify the behavior of both humans and pets?
Would the patient benefit from Medication?
If your pet requires care when Dr. Cutler is not available, she recommends calling Somers Animal Hospital at 914-277-3686 for help during daytime hours (8-5, Mon-Fri).
If your pet requires after-hours care, please refer to the list below for emergency services in our area.
Both facilities have doctors on site continuously.
Here are some very important things to consider before you bring the new puppy or adopted older dog into your home.
If you can answer yes to these questions, then you have put a "best odds" plan in place!
Have you set up a room with baby gates that is puppy proofed and where your puppy will be able to see and hear the typical noises of the household, and interact with family members?
Have you made a safe enclosure in your yard to contain your puppy when he or she is going outside?
This is important to keep your puppy from running away, but also to keep wild or stray animals from coming on to your property and harming your puppy.
