Clearwater Animal Hospital was formerly the Kelner Animal Hospital established in 2007 by Dr. Vicki Kelner. Dr. Kelner created a loyal and large patient base due to her high level medical care and concern for her patients. She has recently decided to decrease her schedule and spend more time with her family. Dr. Kelner will continue working on a part time basis to care for her patients.

Clearwater Animal Hospital will continue to offer comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to our patients. At Clearwater Animal Hospital we strive to offer sound advice and optimal veterinary care to every patient with loving hands and caring hearts. We treat each patient as if they were our own pets - bring them in for all their medical needs.

We are temporarily not accepting new clients due to a recent surge in new clients/pets over the pandemic.
Services
Complete yearly physical exams, vaccinations, heartworm and parasite prevention and treatment.
Also nutrition, behavior, pediatric and geriatric care.
Our staff is dedicated to your pet.
Individual pets require different nutritional and weight management advice, blood, urine, and fecal testing.
Here at Clearwater Animal Hospital we have a state of the art surgical suite which includes gas anesthesia, blood pressure, ECG, carbon dioxide and pulse oximetry monitoring.
We also have excellent ways to control body temperature during and after surgery.
Why do our pets need surveillance screening?
Firstly, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off colour or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness.
We need to examine them every 6 months as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent.
Secondly, pets will actively mask signs of illness until late in the course of disease.
This stems from survival instincts in a pack or colony situation.
Use the age chart to find your pets age in "people" years and the screening testing recommended for each stage of his or her life.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help.
It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery.
Is the anesthetic safe?
Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.
Here at Kelner Animal Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem.
We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet.
Payment in full is required at the time of service.
At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered?
Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age.
Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure.
Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery.
Also a pre-anesthetic blood screen is recommended prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery.
What is the pre-anesthetic blood screening?
This is a blood test that is run here in the clinic prior to surgery.
