We strive to treat our clients and patients as part of our family. We know your pet inside and out and are able to perform a wide range of surgeries to keep them well. We easily perform routine soft tissue surgeries such as spays, neuters, dental surgery, and lumpectomies. We are also equipped for more complicated surgeries such as enucleations, foreign body removal, perineal urethrostomies, lateral ear canal resections, and cystotomies.
We are equipped with a state-of-the-art surgical C02 laser machine that significantly reduces the pain, swelling, and bleeding associated with surgeries such as declaws and lump removals.

Summit Animal Hospital was founded in 1989 by Margaret Cumming, DVM.
It has operated continuously as a small animal practice in Northfield Center, Ohio since that time.
In twenty-five years, Dr. Cumming grew the practice and provided her clients with state-of-the-art veterinary care and a personalized veterinary experience.
In 2004, Kelly Kontur, DVM began working at Summit Animal Hospital as a kennel worker.
She was accepted into veterinary school with the aid of Dr. Cumming, who wrote one of her recommendation letters, and graduated with honors from The Ohio State University.
