Advanced Equine was founded in 2015 by Dr. Jeremy Frederick. His goal was to establish an equine practice that provides exceptional veterinary care, while building client relationships and enhancing the bond between horses and the people who care for them. Over the past several years the practice has grown into an extraordinary team and the vision of the practice has expanded as it continues to thrive.

Advanced Equine isn't just a name. Our team of board-certified specialist veterinarians is committed to delivering a personal touch, and working with our clients to develop diagnostic and treatment plans tailored to the individual patient's needs. Dr. Jeremy Frederick originally hails from London, Ontario and is a 2005 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College.

He then completed an internship at the University of Minnesota, followed by a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Florida. In 2011, Dr. Frederick finished additional training and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.
Services
Equine wellness exams are essential to a horse's overall health.
With proper preventative care, horses can be protected from contagious diseases and appropriately treated for parasites.
These exams also help identify systemic health problems which can then be managed and treated.
At Advanced Equine of the Hudson Valley, our wellness exams and preventative care packages are designed to optimize the horse's health and wellbeing, while providing owners with a variety of options so they may best care for their individual horse.
Vaccines are one of the best ways to protect your horse.
They are a vital component of every horse's wellness and preventative care routine.
At Advanced Equine of the Hudson Valley, our veterinarians can make vaccination recommendations specific to your horse's individual needs!
Core vaccines are recommended for all horses by the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
These are administered on a case by case basis depending on the individual horse's probable risk of exposure, and our veterinarians can help you determine if your horse needs them!.
Accidents and unexpected illnesses happen.
At Advanced Equine of the Hudson Valley, our veterinarians understand how distressing it can be when a horse falls ill or gets injured, which is why we're always here to help.
You know your horse best, so you are the best judge of his or her behaviors and appearance.
If your horse is ill or experiencing an emergency, stay calm, assess the situation and your horse's condition, and contact our veterinarian as soon as possible.
If you notice any changes in your horse's behavior, appearance, appetite, or energy level, we recommend scheduling a veterinary evaluation for your horse right away.
Pre-purchase examinations are intended to protect potential buyers from purchasing a horse that does not to fit their needs.
Horses can appear perfectly healthy on the outside, but underlying conditions or abnormalities could lead to lameness or disease shortly after purchase.
We strongly encourage both buyers and sellers to be present during pre-purchase examinations.
While our veterinarian can conduct an examination of a horse without the buyers and sellers present, pre-purchase exams are much more effective when all parties are on site.
Regular dental care with a knowledgeable practitioner is essential to your horse's performance, comfort, and health.
Advanced Equine's veterinarians provide complete dental care for your horse.
Horses have highly specialized teeth that are adapted to sheer off and chew rough forage all day.
Unlike people, horses have hypsodont teeth, which erupt continuously throughout their lives, which allows them to manage this primarily rough-forage diet.
Domestic horses typically only spend a small fraction of their time grazing due to modern management practices of limited turnout time.
