Services
Dr. Brian is the Medical Director of Pets in Harmony Veterinary Hospital, Allegheny North Veterinary Hospital (Perrysville), Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital (Wexford).
He primarily sees patients here in Harmony, but works at all three hospitals and provides house call services for our patients throughout the North Hills.
Dr. Brian completed his B.S. in Biology at Westminster College, before earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University in 1999.
He worked in Erie, PA after graduation and helped found an emergency clinic before moving to Pittsburgh.
Your pet's health is our #1 priority.
Whether your dog or cat is due for an annual exam or has an illness or injury that needs treatment, our veterinarians and certified technicians are ready to help.
Exams are by appointment, and we do our best to allow time in the schedule for same-day sick visits.
Our Rehabilitation Center is fully equipped with physical therapy equipment, non-invasive pain management tools, and an underwater treadmill.
Each pet is prescribed a customized therapy program with our Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners, and you will receive guided instruction for at-home techniques to help care for your pet between visits.
While pain relievers and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) certainly have their place in treating painful conditions, alternative therapies can help reduce the need for these medications.
Physical therapy provides relief and improves healing time without the side effects commonly seen with pharmaceuticals.
Rehabilitative medicine can help pets recovering from an injury or surgery, those with degenerative or age-related diseases, or even healthy dogs as part of a canine athletic training program to give an edge during competition.
Your pet's health and comfort are our first priorities, and it's important to us that you understand any recommendations about your companion's medical care.
We encourage open communication, so if you ever have questions or concerns, please call us!
If your dog or cat is due for vaccinations, it is helpful for us to know what vaccines were given, and on what date.
This information helps us adhere to the correct schedule, avoiding unnecessary vaccinations and allowing us to administer boosters when needed so that your pet is properly protected.
Our original statement is available on our blog here.
I just heard Seresto collars are dangerous?
Should I be worried?
At this time there is not any evidence that Seresto collars are dangerous.
As long as you have a genuine Seresto collar (see FAQ #6) and you have not noticed any issues with your pet, there is no cause for concern.
The original article from USA Today is making alarming claims that Seresto collars are responsible for the deaths of almost 1,700 pets.
There are multiple issues in the article that question the credibility of this claim including the reliance on personal anecdotes instead of scientific studies, specific EPA report cited, and the lack of discussion regarding counterfeit flea and tick products.
