Dr. Gary Stutesman graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1992. He and his wife, Lisa, and four children then moved to Hickory, North Carolina. His vision for the future was to move to a growing family friendly environment and open a veterinary hospital. That was the Mountain View area of Hickory, NC. He then bought property with an old home on it on 127 South and Mountain View Animal Hospital soon became a reality.

Not long after, Animal Hospital of Newton-Conover became available and Dr. Stutesman saw a chance to grow his practice and reach even more people and their pets. It paved the way to support his family, make long-lasting client relationships, see second generation kids with their own families, and, after 23 wonderful years, have the opportunity to care of clients and their extended family members.

Because of the overwhelming community support, Animal Hospital of Newton-Conover has grown from a quiet little clinic to the bustling, active clinic that we are today.
Services
Your female pet can live a longer, healthier life!
Spaying helps prevent uterine infections and breast cancer, which is fatal in about 50 percent of dogs and 90 percent of cats.
Spaying your pet before her first heat offers the best protection from this disease.
Spaying also reduces the amount of unwanted litters of puppies/kittens.
Dental health is a very important part of your pet's overall health, and dental problems can cause, or be caused by, other health problems.
Your pet's teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year by your veterinarian to check for early signs of a problem and to keep your pet's mouth healthy.

Sheena has been a Veterinary Receptionist since 2007 and has been a part of the PCA team since 2011!
She adores working with the public and their beloved four-footed babies.
Sheena knew that she wanted to care fore animals since she was a child when a stray kitten hopped into her desk at school.
In her spare time, Sheena enjoys theater, antique shopping and playing with her cat, Twix.
