Services
Roselle Park Animal Hospital is a full-service companion animal hospital providing a broad spectrum of treatments and procedures.
Its entire staff is committed to your pets veterinary care throughout the life of your pet.
Our entire team of professionals is grounded in the belief of preventive care in order to avoid disease, or early detection and diagnosis.
Our veterinarians and staff strive to offer not only sound medical advice, but animal education as well.
Roselle Park Animal Hospital understands the special role your pet plays in your family life, and we are dedicated to becoming your partner in your animal's health care.
As the key to prevention of disease or illness, a comprehensive physical examination is the first and most important step you as an owner can take to ensure your pet's well-being and long-term health.
The information taken by your RPAH practitioner at the initial examination becomes part of your pet's permanent medical history.
This data establishes a baseline against which any subsequent changes in clinical signs and symptoms can be assessed.
In addition, any deviations in your companion animal's behavior-his or her main form of communication with you-is important in the early detection of health problems and the reduction of potential risk factors.
We recommend spaying all female pets.
The benefits to your pet's health and to help reduce the pet overpopulation crisis make this decision easier.
It should be remembered that owners of Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Dogs for the Disabled routinely have their dogs spayed.
What are the advantages of spaying in the female dog?
The prevention of breast cancer.
Dogs spayed before the first "heat" have less than 0.5% chance of developing breast cancer.
Treatment of uterine infection (pyometra) or cancer Dystocia (difficult birthing) or post caesarean section surgery.
The initial examination that your puppy or kitten receives from your veterinarian is critical to its well-being and long-term health.
Your doctor will pay particular attention to the proper growth and development of the eyes, ears, teeth and enamel, skin and nails, and internal organs.
Each youngster will be checked for hereditary or nutritional deficits and the absence of external parasites.
Puppies and kittens receive natural immunity against many diseases within the first few hours of life from their mother's milk-the colostrum-but this protection is short-lived.
