After graduating from Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, we moved to Connecticut and migrated east of the River. This led us to work at Portland Veterinary Hospital, allowing us to get to know you and your pets. You welcomed us, and we knew that we did not want to work anywhere else. We purchased the hospital in 2015 from Dr. Olson & Dr. Nunez, and now as the the owners of Portland Vet, we look forward to strengthening our commitment to serve you, your pets, and the community.

Dr. Christine Gustavson was born in Long Beach, CA though grew up in Arizona. She had numerous animals including sheep, goats, pigs, cow, horses, chickens, & of course, dogs and cats. She earned a Zoology degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, before moving to Oklahoma to pursue her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. There she met Dr. Jon.

They moved to CT after graduation in 2002 to begin their career as small animal veterinarians. She enjoys surgery and all aspects of running a small town veterinary hospital, especially getting to know and helping those in her community.
