Welcome to the West River Veterinary Clinic where our veterinarians and staff are committed to providing compassionate, knowledgeable, and quality care in both North and South Dakota. WRVC is a full service mixed animal practice with five veterinarians on staff, so whether it is your family pet or your herd, our licensed veterinarians and professional staff are here for all your small and large animal needs.
In addition to routine checkups and vaccines, our state-of-the-art veterinary hospital offers diagnostics services including dentistry, in house bloodwork, x-ray, and ultrasound examinations. We also have indoor and outdoor large animal working facilities, with drive-thru loading, so no need to hassle with backing up a trailer. Beyond providing top-notch medical and surgical services, our hospital offers 24-hour emergency care after business hours, weekends and holidays.
We have supportive veterinary services on site, to deliver the ultimate in care and convenience, including our in-house pharmacy, prescription diets, grooming and boarding.

Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is owned by Dr. Andress, Dr. Henderson, Dr. Johnson, Dr. West, and Dr. Innes, who are licensed, experienced veterinarians.

Our office hours are Monday thru Friday 8am-12 pm and 1pm-5pm.
The retail area is open over noon as well.

We have a veterinarian and personnel on call 7 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has.

Lacey came to us from an emergency clinic in Sioux Falls, where she spent 9 years in the ER before making her way north.
She showed up one night at the clinic with a really bad OB and we tried to hire her on the spot.
Lacey moved to the Hettinger area with her dog Jackson and some cattle.
She is a graduate from the Minnesota School of Business with an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology.
When she's not working hard at the clinic, Lacey enjoys spending time with her faithful companion Jackson and working cattle.
She showed up one night at the clinic with a really bad OB and we tried to hire her on the spot.

We have boarding facilities available at both our previous location near Airport Rd, and at our new facility off of Highway 12.
Both facilities include clean, roomy kennels with individual outdoor access.
For our feline friends, we offer indoor-only kennels.
You may bring your own food and blankets; however, we offer Science Diet sensitive stomach for our guests who do not wish to pack an overnight bag.
Our facilities are cleaned twice daily and our staff is trained to monitor our guests and alert a veterinarian if there is any concern for your pets well-being.
Both facilities include clean, roomy kennels with individual outdoor access.
For our feline friends, we offer indoor-only kennels.
