It actually represents the continuation of a tradition of high quality, compassionate animal medicine started in the summer of 1998. Since then, the doctors and staff have changed a bit, but the same attitude of devoted care at country prices persists. We are a rural practice with a relaxed attitude. We do not, however, take a relaxed attitude toward medicine.

We keep a clean facility and an advanced surgical suite with modern diagnostic equipment allowing full service health care for your animals. In 2008 we opened a satellite clinic in the Norris area, directly across from the Museum of Appalachia. We have since moved into a larger facility with full surgery, two exam rooms, and indoor-outdoor runs to allow comfortable boarding of your friends while you are away.

Cats get their own suite and we have recently added a whole set of cat condos at the Clinton office. Both hospitals have isoflourane anesthesia with pulse oximetry patient monitoring, 30 watt CO2 lasers and advanced CBC and blood chemistry analysers, as well as radiology.
Services
Certain illnesses have had such a catastrophic effect on lives that there was incentive to create vaccines to stimulate the body's immune system so that it is prepared if an exposure to the actual infectious agent occurs.
It's kind of like not just having a gun (your immune system) but having it drawn and aimed at the attacker (vaccine stimulated immunity).
We have vaccines against many diseases that were once very common and deadly (Canine Distemper), some that still are common and devastating (Parvovirus) and some that can be public health risks to humans (Rabies and Leptospirosis).
Whether CO2 Laser or "cold steel" it is important to know when and how to approach surgical problems.
Surgery is one of the skilled portions of a veterinarian's duties.
All veterinarians are trained in basic surgical skills in medical school, and others continue to gain experience, expanding their abilities and thus the opportunities to help their patients.
In some cases, the surgical offerings of a veterinarian are limited not by skill of the surgeon, but by the availability of expensive equipment required to perform the surgery.
