Rutland Veterinary Clinic
Rutland Veterinary Clinic is a full service veterinary clinic that has been serving the beautiful town of Rutland and surrounding communities since 1995. We are located near the center of town at 203 Main St. (122-A), in one of the lovely old homes of Rutland. We may look small but we care for a large number of dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, pocket pets, and the occasional chicken, duck and small ruminant brought in by the varied human population of the area.

Our reputation is built on honesty and compassion and a belief that the animals that give us so much love deserve the best in medical care. Rutland Vet Clinic is a fully equipped hospital with digital X-ray, in house laboratory capabilities, and fully monitored gas anethesia. We offer a wide variety of dental and surgical procedures as well as many years of experience in medical diagnostics and treatment.

We are committed to looking at the whole picture and working with owners to come up with the best treatment regime for their pets.
Services
Dr. Robin Chapman and her associate Dr. Deborah Klingener are both 1985 graduates of Tufts University Veterinary School.
Dr. Chapman began in a mixed animal practice with concentration in food animal medicine.
She went on to work 6 years in a mostly small animal hospital where she was able to learn a wide variety of surgical procedures, and then started Rutland Veterinary Clinic from scratch in 1995.
Dr. Klingener has for many years worked as an associate in three veterinary practices and brings a wealth of wisdom and varied treatment options to RVC.
After hour emergencies are covered for our clients.
If you call the clinic (508-886-2286) after working hours the answering machine will usually provide you with Dr. Chapman's cell phone number.
You can call her and she will return your call.
If Dr. Chapman is out of town or unavailable, instructions for numbers to emergency clinics will be on the answering machine for you.
We believe that many after hour concerns do not need to go to the vet school in Grafton for answers but can be talked through or helped with an emergency visit here at Rutland Vet Clinic.
We are finally into winter and the temperatures have really dropped.
Here at the Rutland Vet we often see this as showing up with an extra 2 to 10 pounds on the spring time scale.
This is SOMETIMES winter weight that is lost over the warm months, but is all to often a net gain that happens year after year until the poor fat dog or cat can not move enough to ever get it off again.
So I would like to make a winter plea to bundle up and walk on-out in the sunshine on the trails that are often packed down quite soon after a snow by the snowmobiles and cross country skiers.
