She started working for Dr. Tom Shore at age 16, and fell in love with the art and science of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Barbara Eichler graduated from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983.
Immediately upon graduation, she worked at the Humane Society in St Louis, where she had interned as a student.
By Labor Day that same year, she was hired as a primary veterinarian for the Animal Emergency Clinic in Omaha, Nebraska.
